"Practice "discontinuous productivity." In other words, rest between periods of productivity. We can't gun-it for eight hours straight; our brains just don't work that way. After 90 to 120 minutes of high output, we need a period of recovery--or negativity starts to build, and productivity starts to decline.

Productivity experts recommend periods of focus followed by high-quality periods of rest. Rest periods needn't be long (10-15 minutes will do) if you truly take a break: Go for a walk outside, chat with a coworker or neighbor about a new movie, eat your lunch outside or near a sunny window."

I read this today on a newsletter I subscribe to called

RAISING HAPPINESS

by Christine Carter, Ph.D.

She has a great book and information about raising kids, called RAISING HAPPINESS.

The article in the newsletter was longer but I took this blurb out because it reminded me of when I used to go go go, not that i don't do that now but its different because I am tracking my energy all the time. In the past I was unaware and as I unplugged and took more rests I noticed a huge change in my relationship to food.

Remember a few weeks ago when I said- overwhelm ='s over eating.

So check out the tip above.

And let me know in the comments section how resting (even for 1 minute) brings awareness, body consciousness and presence to your body, relationship to food and your life!

"I feel freedom around food that I didn't think possible. I've lost weight, cleared up my Candida, and gained energy and self-confidence."
