So I'm leafing through the racks at the clothing store today saying to myself, No, No, No, No, No.

YES!

And then this little voice sneaks in.

You can't wear that. You have hips and a belly.

And then this other voice in my head says.

I wish I had a different body.


OMG!


I actually started laughing out loud because NOW I know that those voices do not have my best interest in mind, are just out to make some crazy making and mostly a product of my conditioning.

But man these voices used to ruin my whole day.

So what did I do?

Today I just moved on with my life.

But before I walked away I told my body, "Don't listen to "her". I love you. You're perfect."


Now this may seem like a huge step.

Especially if you feel far away from your FOOD AND BODY FREEDOM but I know that one day you too will be able to laugh about it and move on.


Until then here are a 3 tips to help you over come that urge to beat up on your body.


1. Get clear- that this voice is not you.
I mean, it is you but it's not. It's the conditioned voice.

The one that learned that you are "suppose to " look a different way that you do. Start to pay attention to the things you "learned" about a women's body.


2. Take account - how many voices are there?

Did you notice that I said there was this voice, and then there was another voice.

If you slow it down enough you will most likely notice that there are many parts of yourself and they don't always have the same intension, tone, attitude, interests or message.

Once you can account for how many "different parts" of yourself are speaking you have something to work with.


3. Appreciate one thing about yourself or your body.

Now this step was not always the easiest one. My appreciations used to look like this, "Yeah yeah, you're not so bad." or " I am really having a hard time with you body and I want to believe I can make peace with you but right now it's really hard."


Speaking appreciations is not about about saying something loving and doing that spiritual bypass thing.

It's about being real with what's true for you now.
