Yuck day

The day started out well. I got up, made my kale salad before work and packed hydrating drink, nuts and fruit, as well as brown rice. When it came time to eat lunch, I just couldn't eat it. Something, or someone, inside me was saying "yuck! i don't want that kale salad and i'm NOT gonna eat it!" I couldn't choke it down, despite being really hungry. Well, that was at noon, and my work day wasn't over until almost 7 pm. By the time I got home, I was beyond famished. I quickly made a tofu/banana…See More

Day 14, feeling great but worried

It's day 14 for me on the virtual cleanse. For week 2 I mostly have eaten the same things on week one, but i did add more juices, soups and liquids to my diet. I am feeling and looking great, so here is my concern: how to eat after this cleanse? I am fearful of going back to my old ways and bloating up all over again. I'd like to incorporate some of the recipes in the cleanse into my weekly diet, but I know what I've done in the past: fallen back on trader joe's pizzas, prepackaged salads, and…See More

Day 11 Update

Today will be Day 11 for me on the virtual cleanse, I am sticking with Track One. Overall I feel great, I have energy, my mood swings are gone, and I feel much lighter. It is challenging for me to eat mostly liquids/juices and soups instead of solid foods. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are very demanding for me with my work schedule, and I need fuel to keep me going, or I wilt. Also, there's something that scares me about a liquid diet. Maybe it harkens back to my dangerous dieting days as a…See More

Day 7 on the VC & feeling GREAT!

It's day 7 for me on the VC, and I am feeling fantastic! This morning I went to a 2 hour yin/vinyasa yoga class, did a dry skin brush before showering, and prepared the chili for lunch, tempeh style - delicious!I find it remarkable how quickly my body responds to whole foods. It's as if a total transformation has taken place and it's only been 7 days. Two weeks ago you would have found me at Carl's Jr, spilling ketchup on myself as I raced down the freeway. Soda, sugar and pizza filled my week…See More

day 4 on the virtual cleanse

i started the virtual cleanse on sunday, 3 days early. i am so glad i did because the conference call with darshanna made everything more clear. also, i began with inspiration and enthusiasm on sunday and by tonite's conference call i needed a pep talk. the cravings and symptoms have set in on day 2,3 and 4. namely, headaches, lethargy, and intense cravings for cheese and white flour - gimme a big pizza!i've also spent hours and hours in the kitchen chopping, cooking and cleaning, it's…See More

day one of 21 day cleanse

today had it's challenges and its rewards. i started off the morning with only 1 cup of not-very-strong coffee and by noon had an awful caffeine withdrawal headache! i had more caffeine and felt better, i plan to slowly taper off this next week.i also did a dry skin brush, super-hot bath with aromatherapy oils lavender and rosemary. in addition, i practiced Darshana's cleansing asana sequence from this month's yoga journal. I've drank tons of lemon water, and the black bean stew is delicious.i…See More
